Launch Fest had seen great success in the previous years, but California’s capitol was beginning to outgrow its beloved local music fest. The team wanted to do more.
After securing the event’s location and sponsors, the TBD team turned to Band to build the festival an identity.
The branding needed to reflect the modern simplicity of the newly developed district.
As we progressed into the brand development, we were drawn to the geometric shapes of the city’s iconic golden bridge, and sought inspiration from a variety of local architectural works in the ever-growing state capitol.
Sticking to a geometric grid and pattern, we developed out a unique type-set for a variety of festival applications.
With the grid in mind, we took to designing promotional deliverables for the entire town.
By partnering with a talented team of designers and developers, including our good pal Jesse Bek, we built TBD an online presence that helped provide festival attendees with an array of helpful resources from ticketing, lodging and even building a personalized event schedule.
The festival was a smashing success.
Each day was individually documented by a talented team at TBD, so you can see what it was like in these video recaps:
And since we prefer to leave live concert photos to the pros, he’s a few of our favorite shots from some of the talented photographers who go into the fest for free to take pictures (it pays to be creative).
